大阪生まれ.。現在ベルリン在住。

2009年よりドイツはベルリンの実験／即興音楽シーンを中心にドイツ、イタリア
スペイン、スイス、UK、メキシコで公演。
Maher Shalal Hash Baz, Tristan Honsinger, Michael Northam, Volacano the Bear, Faust, Takeshi Nishimoto等、共演者は多岐に渡り、昨年行ったギグは60回に及ぶ。
複数のバンド／プロジェクトの一員として、UKのAll Tomorrows Partie's、Faust主催のドイツはAvantgard Festival等、ヨーロッパの有力なフェスティバルへの出演を経験。
また、自身のソロライブ／コラボレーション／DJと並行し、ベルリンのアンダーグラウンドなヴェニューでの各種コンサート企画も行う。

実験音楽 - フリージャズ - ノイズ - サウンドアートの垣根を、多様なマテリアル（：オシレーター、フィールドレコーディング、メジャー、グラスカリンバ、ミニマッサージャー、声その他）を即興的に織り交ぜながら越境する彼のパフォーマンススタイルは、"スピリチュアル・ノイズ"もしくは"フィールドレコーディング・カラオケ"と評される。

2012年１-２月にかけて、自身初となる日本ツアーを敢行、全14公演の一環として今回初来沖。

Iku Sakan is a experimental sound performer, improvisor and DJ from Osaka, Japan currently based in Berlin, Germany.

Over the past two years, as both musician and concert organiser, he has been slowly developing his practice within the empathetic and intimate network of underground venues and musicians in Berlin. His growth as an experimental sound performer has been a gradual process, influenced by years of collecting records in Japan and nursing a wide range of listening tastes.

his music is a sort of weaving exercise, looking to find “soulful moments from soulless materials.” This emotional connection is vital for him, and the music has a tangible quality, full of textures and colours extracted from a constantly shifting collection of sound sources and materials. In many of his performances his set up resembles that of a DJ, several possibilities laid out in front of him to be manipulated as appropriate. An improvisational approach is crucial to this, allowing him to listen as much as to play.

He has performed in Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, UK, Mexico & Japan, including important festivals in Europe as a member of several bands, such as All Tomorrows Partie's in UK(with Maher Shalal Hash Baz) and Avantgard Festival in Germany(organised by Faust, with Meeting of the Spirits).

Alongside of his solo performance, Iku has been collaborated with wide range of artists - from Improvisation to Noise music, Avant-Rock to Sound Art - most notably with Muneomi Senju(ex-Boredoms, Para), Michael Northam, Maher Shalal Hash Baz, Mitsuaki Matsumoto, Kakawaka and many others.

Currently using specially prepared instruments such as the Gamelan Pan (individualy detuned Steelpan) as well as computer processing, prepared recordings and a range of sounding objects(such as mini-masserger, measure & oscilator) - Iku explores the music as 'Myth-Science' by combining both electronic devices and acoustic objects.
